BANGALORE:
Members of the ABVP met higher education minister Aravind Limbavali on Thursday
regarding various issues, including revaluation fee, infrastructure in women's
university and smart cards in polytechnics.
Ravi Chandra P M, state
secretary of ABVP, said that they sought inter-university transfer of officials.
"The university officials continue to work in the same university till their
retirement. Some of them even indulge in illegal activities," he said, adding
the minister has assured to consider the issue.
The members also
urged the minister to upgrade the infrastructure in women's university and
reintroduce students' election in universities. "After the implementation of
Karnataka University Act 2000, elections were banned. We want student
representatives who can listen to our problems. The minister said a committee
has been constituted to look into the Act," he said.
They also
requested the government to refund the money collected from polytechnic students
for smart cards, which were not issued.
