AHMEDABAD:
The two people arrested for planting bombs in Surat, Tanveer Pathan and Zaheer
Patel, were on Wednesday remanded in police custody for 10 days.
Additional civil judge, P M
Unnadkat, passed the order after police sought their custody for unravelling the
conspiracy behind the planting of bombs in Surat and their role in Ahmedabad
serial blasts.
Pathan and Patel were produced
before the court amid tight police bandobast on Wednesday, within hours of
Gujarat Director General of Police P C Pande flying in from Gandhinagar to
announce the cracking of the Surat case.
The government pleader said the
accused were involved in a heinous crime and that the conspiracy behind the
planting of the bombs was yet to be unravelled by investigating agencies. He
asked for 14 days' remand. The court granted 10-day remand.
