Gandhinagar : Criticising Gujarat government for the current drive to demolish anauthorised temples in Gandhinagar, Vishwa Hindu Parishad's international president Ashok Singhal on Thursday said that such a demolition drive was not carried even during the days of Mahmud of Ghazni.
Speaking to the media in Gandhinagar, in the presence of a large crowd, in front of the debris of Sai Baba temple, which was demolished on Tuesday, Singhal said, "Government should stop this act of demolishing temples in Gandhinagar immediately. Such a thing has not happened in the last 40 years. It only happened during the Islamic regimes in the past."
