CHENNAI:
Tension prevailed for a while at the Central Railway Station on Friday morning
following an annoymous bomb threat, which turned out to be a hoax.
Police said bomb experts and
sniffer dogs were immediately pressed into service after the annonymous
telephone call said bombs would go off in the station.
Railway protection force
frisked the passengers and their baggage entering the station. All the parcels
were also checked thoroughly using metal detectors.
After a collective search by
the officials for nearly four hours, it was found that it was a hoax call.
Efforts were on to trace the
caller, police added.
