PATNA:
Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday called upon youths to utilise their
labour, talent and strength in making a new Bihar. He was speaking at Amber
Chowk in Biharsharif after unveiling the statue of freedom fighter Guru Lal
Sahay and said the young generation should take inspiration from the teachings
and sacrifices of the freedom fighters.
He said the government is
taking reform measures in education and health sector for the overall
development of human resources. Apart from basic education, institutions of
technical education are also coming up in a big way. He referred to the
inauguration of two new engineering colleges by him one in Gaya and another at
Chandi in Nalanda district. He said new medical colleges are also being set
up.
The CM hoped that after opening of such institutions, the
students residing here would not need to go outside and the students from
outside will come here. Referring to the positive and constructive changes in
the state during the past three years, Nitish urged people to maintain social
and communal harmony.
Others present on the occasion included JD(U)
chief whip Shrawan Kumar, HRD minister Hari Narayan Singh and local legislators
Sunil Kumar, S N Arya and Jeetendra Kumar.
