Pay
more for letters
The postal department has revised rates for
letters, packets, printed newspapers and other articles. It has dispensed with
the existing differential rates for neighbouring SAARC and other countries, and
uniform rates for all countries will be prescribed. The rates cover all postal
articles cleared from letter boxes from September 1 onwards. Revised rates will
be on display at post offices.
Free
health check-up :
A free medical camp will be organized on
Thursday by MVJ College of Engineering, at Government Primary School,
Channasandra, Whitefield. The camp will be held from 9 am to 3 pm. Free health
check-up by specialists, basic investigations and medicines will be provided.
Around 25 student volunteers will assist doctors at the camp.
No
meat on Sept 3:
Animal culling and sale of meat have been
prohibited on September 3 on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Culling has been
banned from Tuesday 8 am to 5 am on Thursday.
Bal
Utsav:
The Karnataka State Council for Child Welfare will
hold 'Bal Utsav 2008', an annual cultural competition for differently abled
children on Friday and for institutional children on Saturday, at Bal Bhavan at
10.30 am.
Water
Adalat:
BWSSB Water Adalat of North 4 sub-division will be
held on Thursday from 9.30 am to 11 am at the office of assistant executive
engineer, Yelahanka. Disputes of customers staying in Vidhyaranyapuram,
Sahakaranagar, Yelahanka station limits will be heard.
Eye
camp:
People's Trust, an NGO, will hold a free eye screening
and cataract operation camp on its campus at Sai Sriramanahalli on Doddaballapur
Road on Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. 23625579.
New
traffic sub-division :
A new traffic subdivision has been
sanctioned. 'Traffic North East' will comprise Devanahalli, Chikkkajala,
Yelahanka, RT Nagar and Hebbal limits.
