HYDERABAD:
Two women drowned while attempting to cross a swollen stream in Ghatkesar on
Tuesday night.
S Rajeswari, 23, and
S Akhila, 18, both natives of Pattipaka, Warangal, had been working at Damodar
Reddy poultry farm in Ghatkesar. They were living on the premises of the
poultry farm.
According to
Ghatkesar inspector K Ravinder Reddy, the mishap occurred on Tuesday night when
both were going to Ghatkesar main road to purchase provisions. "To reach the
main road, they have to cross Erramala Wagu. Due to the heavy rains on Tuesday,
the current in the stream was high and the duo got drowned when they attempted
to cross it," Reddy said. The bodies were retrieved on Wednesday
morning.
