Rajeshwari
Sachdev has done everything that she possibly could: acting, singing, dancing,
anchoring, theatre, pop-albums, television soaps.
Currently seen in Meet Mila De
Rabba after a long time, she says, “I’m doing a cameo in the serial.
My character is humourous,” she says.
Rajeshwari has done cameos in
Rihaee, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Caravan, Margarita et al. So, does she prefer
cameo tracks rather than full-fledged tracks? “Cameo tracks surprise
viewers and give a significant twist to the tale. These roles fit in well with
my busy schedule,” she says.
Most of Shyam Benegal’s
ventures have Rajeshwari as an inevitable part of the script and the same goes
for the movie Welcome to Sajjanpur. Ask her about her experience and she says,
“It was a funny yet intelligently made film. I’m glad the audience
received it so warmly.” Her upcoming projects? “I usually talk about
my films once they are ready to be released. I have three films at the
moment,” she says.
Rajeshwari was also a part of
Nach Baliye with hubby Varun Badola and both shared a wonderful chemistry on the
dance floor. They have been married for four years now and she says, “We
are each other’s best friends.” Ask her if she is craving to do
another dance-based reality show and she affirms, “In fact, I’m
dying to do one. They offer good exposure and opportunity for actors. A reality
show with mix of dancing, singing and acting is a great challenge for an
actor.” Anything planned on the musical front? “I need at least
three-four months to come up with an album and now I don’t have that much
time. I guess in order to compose an album, I will have to get pregnant,”
jokes Rajeshwari in a jest. Are they? “Nah! Jab hona hoga ho
jaayega,” says Rajeshwari.
